Welcome to our web site. We are here to serve all the “Little Vaisnavas”, big or small. It is a place to learn about Krsna and His friends and devotees.
“Little Vaisnava” came about when I was raising my children, starting in the early 1970’s. I have been a singer songwriter most of my life, so it was a natural thing for me to sing to my babies as they were growing up. And since talents are a gift to be given, I wrote songs about what I was learning for myself and those around me.
I read in Srila Prabhupada’s books that Mother Yasoda and the elderly Gopis would sing about Krsna’s Pastimes as they went about their daily affairs. It kept them Conscious of Him at all times and so they were peaceful and happy.
I also wanted my children and their friends to understand about this wonderful philosophy of Krsna Consciousness that my spiritual master, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada had so carefully and lovingly brought over to us from far away India where it had been known for thousands of years.
Now western people could also learn about God from this unique perspective. I knew He was the same God I had grown up with in my father’s church, I already had developed my relationship with Him. But this additional knowledge of the Spiritual Science of Krsna Consciousness helped me to get even closer to the Lord of my heart.
As Srila Prabhupada translated these important Vedic literatures, Bhagavad Gita As It Is, Srimad Bhagavatam, Caitanya Caritamrita and others, for the upliftment of mankind, I thought I would translate some of these messages into the simple language of children so they could have a head start and grow to love Krsna early in life. In fact this is what a good parent most wants to do.
So I sang with my children and later, in the late 1980’s we had a chance to record some of these songs. My older children sang with me and the few tapes I had made and passed out got copied and sent all over the world. To my surprise many devotees liked them. So some of the older songs I have here are not professional in the recording sense, but they are from the heart and I hope you will enjoy them.
I have been asked for years to make them more available, so this is my attempt to do so. I have many more songs that I am recording and will add them soon.
I also have old recordings of the puppet show sound tracks I made when in Los Angeles Temple in the late 1970’s. They can be used for stories or children can act them out or do their own puppet shows.
I also have a six week course I wrote using the songs with movement and art projects that could be used at home or in a Sunday school situation. I appreciate the feedback I receive and am honored to be of service to you.
I want this site to be interactive and hear from friends of how they want it to be. I love seeing your pictures and videos of your activities and plays and look forward to growing our devotional creepers together.
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!
